Chesterfield, still my favorite...

Monday, 30 November 2009

I keep seeing chesterfield sofas all over the place, it seems than they here to stay for a long time...Who could have predicted that this leather buttoned design, favorite of the English gentleman's clubs in the Victorian time, was going to be many many years later part of our homes, shops, pubs, bars, etc...

A couple of years ago I was on my way to the supermarket, when I spotted this cherry beauty on the street, in a secondhand shop, I sat on it and started to dream about how would I take it home and where would I put it, (at the time I was renting a room in a house)...all I knew was, that it meant to come home with me!! So I paid £75 for it and begged the shop's owner to bring it home for me. Since then, has moved to a better location, my current home, and is the pride of the living room, and even being the inspiration for one of my designs, long life to my chesterfield!!

Looking for inspiration??

Friday, 23 October 2009

Creative people and their spaces, Selby is my place to look for inspiration, I like houses that tell stories about the people that live in them, their dreams, loved curiosities, great finds, unexpected pieces, I share this same need of surrounding myself with all the things that I like, create and inspire me...

{atelier abigail ahern} Interiors

Monday, 5 October 2009

I have spent the past hour browsing Abigail’s blog, reading her views on interiors, and stearing with my eyes wide open at the amazing photos of her house and other interiors that are featured in her blog. Since the first time I stepped in her shop in Islington I fell for her sense of styling and the things that she finds for the shop and the different spaces she helps to create. I am sure that by now you are all familiar with her work, if not, here are some photos that I selected from her beautiful and inspirational blog.

CASA DECOR 2009

Thursday, 24 September 2009

I am trilled to show this photos of this year's Casa Decor 09 exhibition building in Barcelona. What a place! I can't wait to see what the interior firms do with it.

Casa Decor is a unique and innovative approach developed specifically for Interior Designers, Architects , Artists, Designers and Manufacturers to showcase their creative vision.
Already a success in 27 countries throughout the world, Casa Decor is a month long "exhibition with a difference" where a building in a major city is transformed by Interior Designers and Architects, creating an unparelleled marketing opportunity. Here, products, services, leading edge designs and art are presented in real life settings to an audience of Architects, Developers, Suppliers, Hotel Specifiers, The Design Press - and the Public!

I have been lucky enough to assist to a few of Casa Decor events in the past (includind the presentation of the event in London) and can only say that if you like interiors and decoration is the place to be!! I am planning to go to barcelona for this years', running from 12 November-13 December, my friends from Deulonder will be exhibiting there together with many other talented designers.

Enjoy the empty building photos, I will comeback with some images of this place already done!!
