Carlie, a customer of mine, has recently sent me some photos of her new kitchen. She chose the colorful plywood knobs from chocolate creative to create a contemporary and beautiful space where to cook and entertain. I love the plywood pale blue top that match perfectly the wooden knobs and grey cabinets.

A very practical layout with plenty of storage and work surface. I am of the opinion that open spaces are a must in our houses. Ideally an unique space for the whole family and visitors to enjoy.

BEAUTIFUL FLAT IN BARCELONA

Back in London from my trip to Barcelona. This magical city holds a lot of beautiful memories for me, as I studied part of my Degree over there, and is where I met some of my best friends. The main reason for this time's visit was the birth of my friend Pilar's baby, Otto, a gorgeous baby that stole my heart... 

 

Pilar, lives with her partner Natxi and Otto, in a beautiful flat, very close to Plaza Cataluña, just in the centre of the city. With the upcoming arrival of baby Otto, they decided to make some changes in the rooms and decoration. With a flat as grandiose as this one, it is easy to get immersed in the decorating tasks. They both have a very good taste, and have kept the decor neutral to make the most of the modernists tiles, high ceelings, tall windows and features to speak for themselves.
They have focussed on graphic pieces of art (the top print is one of mine), black and white photography, added some vintage pieces such as the leather chesterfield and chair, combined with more modern pieces of furniture.

Otto's room

Otto's room is a delight, plenty of natural light, white walls, his soon favourite soft toys, and many cushions!! Pilar and Natxi, plan to finish the flat soon – I hope to show the final result at some point – but for the time being I leave you with some snaps of interesting corners and details. Barcelona has got the most amazing architecture and interiors, another location for me to consider, Gran Canaria, the East Sussex coast, Barcelona...

Apartment in Primrose Hill by Amos Goldreich Architecture

When it comes to interiors, I don't have a defined style, I can either go for something very clean and modern or a more vintage old and eclectic style. Either way, white walls or neutral colours are my must. I am very interested in renovation projects of old properties, I will always be more in favour of rescuing an old property than in building a new one. Even a small simple flat can become a beauty if well renovated.

 

This flat in Primrose Hill has been renovated by Amos Goldreich Architecture studio. A small 60-square metre space has been converted in a practical living space filled with light, contemporary furniture, and added touches of colours by using colourful homewares. You can see the before and after pictures of the project here. How by using quality materials and clever space solutions they have created a beautiful and cosy flat. I like the simplicity of the open layout and the white bespoke furniture units. I can see my range of wooden knobs and bespoke handles being used in projects like this, adding the final touch.

CHOCOLATE CREATIVE WALL HOOKS – NOCHINTZ

At chocolate creative, we work alongside some very nice architect and design/interior firms. Over the years, we have created some bespoke orders for various nurseries, schools, hotels, and have worked closely with clients to make on demand colours and sizes wooden knobs for their kitchens.

We will be soon launching a wider bespoke service. I am developing together with Gassy some very nice big format wooden handles and knobs, to be used in wardrobes, fitted cabinets, etc…One of my favourites firms to work with is the creative studio, Nochintz, up in Manchester. They have been using our wooden wall hooks and knobs for different projects. I like their approach to design, using and supporting UK based independent designers/makers and keeping their interiors fresh, contemporary and functional.

Their portfolio is diverse and impressive, here are some images of the work they did for the Natural retreats company and a recent Hotel exhibition in London, on both you can see chocolate creative wall hooks being used in a very practical and creative way.
