Illustrator Mary Kilvert, has designed this cute Town Houses wallpaper, inspired by old childhood toys. I love the little cat among the houses and trees, perfect for a nursery or child's bedroom, hey, wait a minute why not for myself? It would look great in my hallway.

Design your perfect parlour with mydeco.com

When Chocolate Creative got invited to go along to the launch of mydeco.com's pop up store we couldn't resist. The tiny shop promised to house hundreds of products from high end, to boutique fabrics and furnishings. The launch of pop up store located in Notting hill coincides with the reinvention of mydeco's 3d design application. The design tool allows you to become your own interior designer; creating virtual rooms with which to fill furnishings fit to measure perfectly into your interior scheme.

Creating a mood board of desired items allows you to play around with ideas, from colours, to furnishings, fabrics and wallpaper before you create the perfect room.

Creating your ideal house is sometimes a luxury we can only dream of, so we think mydeco's 3d design is a perfect way to get a little step nearer to becoming your own entrepreneurial style guru!

Beautiful paper goods from Australia...

I learnt about Follow Studio browsing flickr, what a great site!! I was taken by the pictures in their profile, first the house, the landscape and the cute dog...later by their paper designs, very simple and well crafted, this is just a small selection of their range, more in their website.

Freerangedoodle by Xiang Zeng

I saw Xiang’s movable wallpaper at the Central San Martin textile show, I thought it was a clever and very cute idea of telling a story. This time not through a book but on an interactive medium, where you get to make your own version of the tale and became the narrator of your unique wall paper …very creative!!

In her words...Inspired by the changeable nature of fairy tale stories, where frogs can suddenly become princes and princes can become frogs, my work is concerned with visual narratives that can be altered through interaction. I am creating a collection of narrative wallpapers that are multilayered with pull out pieces, movable characters and rotating wheels. What the viewer peels off or move around will continuously alter the meaning of the image

Freerangedoodle is created by Xiang Zeng with the intention to showcase her fun and free approach to design. Her work is often inspired by her own fairy-tale-like narratives which she uses to create computer animations and garments. In 2008 she was awarded the William Atkinson award by CSM for her designs on the reinterpretation of Little Red Riding Hood. With her passion for 'crazy' stories and beautiful patterns, Xiang continues to explore the possibilities of new and traditional technology to create narrative led surfaces for fashion and interiors.
