Nice weekend...

Friday 29 January 2010

People over at Etsy are so nice...Sema from HouseJewels just included my LOVE cushion in one of her treasuries, thanks and I hope to get to do one myself soon, the free slots are always taken, hopefully soon!!

Have a great weekend, I am hoping to relax, wonder around my local area for a walk, perhaps meet my friends who just returned from Argentina and work on my cushions!!

Bloesem blog has got this great section called "Let's get personal" where they show the houses of different artists, what inspires them and show a bit of their work as well. I have spent quite a bit of time going through all the posts, admiring the photos, styling, etc... what is it about people's houses that I like so much? I guess that I get to see how all this interesting artists/designers get to live, decorate their interiors and how that sometimes can be reflected in their own work. One of my favorite is the house and work of designer Lenneke Wispelwey. Her ceramics line called 'The sweet surprise', in pastel colors, simple shapes, peculiar textures and full of humor is a must!!

A dream house...

This is probably one of the best spaces I have seen in interiors magazines, (AD). I am a fan of white walls, wood furniture from different periods, black touches, industrial lamps and lighting, cactus, (don't have many in London as the weather doesn't suit them), photos and art on the walls...This house belong to Delfin and Postigo, (seen at Jatzer)

Cute jewellery from Lapin & Me

Hello, I am back!! After a much needed break due to my very tired arm that was giving me so much pain...I so much love doing this blog and I miss it a lot when I don't post, so here I am.

I find this new jewellery line at lapin & Me very cute. I would love to get the tea cup for myself. This shop is full of gorgeous things, I will pay a visit in a couple of weeks...

Welcome Alice!! and apologies for not blogging latetly....

Tuesday 26 January 2010

Hello dear all, I wanted to share very good news with you, Kate (the other half of this blog) gave birth to Alice Martha a few days ago. They are all very well at home with little Ella, dad, Jack and family. I can't wait to meet the new baby, you see, since Kate moved to Norwich, I don't get to see them as much as I would like, so I can't wait to book my train ticket and come to visit very soon!!

Apologies for not blogging this last week, but my right arm, shoulder and hand has been giving me some problems, too much work haha...plus some organising in the house, but promise to come back soon with some more inspiration and ideas!!

Love you all!!

Fabrics by Ricardo Labougle

Sunday 17 January 2010

I just subscribed to The World of Interiors, as it is cheaper than buying it now and again. I am doing my Tax Return and just realised how much money I have spent on magazines in the past years!! Way too much… So I am only getting the titles I really like the most, AD (Spanish version), Elle Decoration, World of Interiors, Living Etc…(not sure about the styling they are doing lately) and Marie Claire Maison (French).

This photos by photographer Ricardo Labougle, are from the World of Interior October 2009 issue. I have been trying to get this pictures for quite a while, and just found them through Larkabout site They are probably one of the most beautiful fabrics styling photos I have seen so far. The fabrics itself are gorgeous and rich in color and patterns. I really like the contract of this expensive/elaborate fabrics against the more rustic/simple interiors (Argentina).

Gorgeous patterns by Bennison Fabrics

What I like about Bennison (an English Company Specialising in hand-printed fabrics based on the designs of the original 18th and 19th Century English and French textiles discovered by the late, renowned antique dealer and decorator), is that they have kept the traditional way of hand drawing and printing their textiles. I wish I would have access to their archive of patters and materials...or simple see them producing the meters and meters of this delicious fabrics...

Some inspiration from Mark Seelen gorgeous photos

Thursday 14 January 2010

I have spent the last half and hour browsing the portfolio of photographer Mark Seelen, needles to say how much talent goes on his photos. His portraits of people are very good, and the interiors he gets to shoot with his camera and its photos are outstanding!!

This is how my house is going to look if i carry on buying magazines, (my addiction)...

Sweet Liberty Prims

Great style and photos at Sweet Liberty Prims, and Etsy shop full of handmade articles, from labels, frames, flags, vintage finds, boxes, books, etc...where the past meets the present.

Cute rabbit brooch by Sarah McNeil

I could not help but post about this cute rabbits by artist Sarah McNeil, she also have a lovely collection of drawings and other brooches...

I WANT it all!!

I have just fallen in love with this Japanese furniture shop, called Truck-furniture, the pieces they have on sale are so simple and beautiful, some of them with this old retro/vintage look that I like so much!! But not only the furniture is great, the styling is eye candy too!! I like the wood pieces against the simplicity of the white walls and cement/wood flooring.
