CHOCOLATE CREATIVE AT MOLLIE MAKES HOME MAGAZINE

Monday 30 September 2013

Hello Monday and everybody. Good weekend? I hope so, mine was easy and restful. I needed it some quiet time after spending 6 days setting up and exhibiting at TENT London. This shows are a killer and take a lot from us, exhibitors, I always end up not knowing what day of the week is it, or where exactly I am, so now that the show is over I am happy being back at my home/studio.
I wanted to share with you the latest mention of chocolate creative in the press. This time, it is a long feature showing my home, work space and a bit about my personal life and work, including Missi, the cat and a big picture of me. Oh dear I don't feel very confortable with it, but hey you never know how the final photos are going to be used, and I must admit I almost fell off my chair when I saw it. I love it, but I wish I would have worn something more flattering...
This pages are from the second special issue of the Mollie Makes magazine, about creative spaces and designers. I am very grateful to Caroline from 91magazine who approached me about taken part in the tea and chat section of the magazine.

It is a delightful publication, filled with gorgeous interiors, work spaces and very inspirational stories from different designers/makers. I hope I don't come across as the lonely woman, who lives with her cat in South London haha...as Missi gets mentioned quite a lot and is fast becoming famous in instagram.
You can see and read more over at caroline's blog, or get a copy from WHSmith, (in waterloo and some other big ones), Tesco, or order online.

Thank you so much Caroline for having me over, it has been a pleasure working with you on this feature, and a super big THANKS to Piero, who always take the photos for chocolate creative. You have both done and amazing job.

CHOCOLATE CREATIVE AT TENT LONDON 2013

Wednesday 18 September 2013

TENT LONDON opens its doors tomorrow, so I better go to bed and get some beauty sleep to be somehow presentable and don't look this tired...stand is ready, clothes prepared for the next 4 days, fridge is stoked with healthy food and house is clean.

I won't bother you with the details of how difficult and challenging the whole experience has been so far. I am happy that I have managed to set up the stand in time despite the difficulties and it is ready and looking decent. I am looking forward to meeting lots of people and enjoy the show. If you are in London and love design don't miss it, there is plenty of good design and talented designers. It is a consumers show as well as trade, open from tomorrow until Sunday, so see you at my stand T1/F09.

OUR MINI TRIP TO PARIS, A GORGEOUS SHOP AND A MAGAZINE...

I would like to share with you a few discoveries from my recent mini trip to Paris. Last week, Sian, Kate and I jumped on the Euroestar on a mission, to visit the Mason & Object trade fair to have an idea for future shows (I will post about the fair and some other shops after I have finished TENT in London). We walked and walked miles and saw and saw millions of things...

Here is a gorgeous shop we found while looking for the French magazine toc-toc-toc. La manufacture parisienne, is a super cute little shop, filled with gorgeous things, some fantastic notebooks and paper goods mixed with vintage finds. Love the styling and the space.
...an Kate finally got her magazine...you should have seen her face when she saw it.

LATEST PRESS MENTIONS

Sunday 15 September 2013

It is raining and grey outside, but I must admit that I don't mind, since I have spent the last 3 days in my home/studio, working and organising my stand for TENT London. I am super excited to be exhibiting at this trade fair and I can't wait to put together all the products. I am equally happy about the latest press mentions that chocolate creative have been getting. Needless to say that I almost had a heart attack when I saw the English romantic cushions in Elle Decoration. I knew about the other two magazines, but this mention was coming from Liberty, so a big happy surprise!

Above a spread from Habitania, a gorgeous Spanish magazine, and below The latest issue of Homes & Gardens, a very good one, I love some of the houses and products they feature.

ADIOS SUMMER, HOLA SEPTEMBER

Monday 2 September 2013

Good Monday to all, I hope you enjoyed the last few days of Summer. It is a bit hard to be here, working after such a nice weekend. I turn off the computer at 4pm last Friday and decided not to touch it for the whole weekend, which is quite an achievement for me. Yesterday I realised that the Summer was gone and that my favourite month of the year, September has started. I don't know why I like it so much, I guess because the weather in London seems to be very pleasant and stable, even more than during the English Summers. It is the time for one of the most exciting events in the capital, the London Design Festival and a very busy one for me, as I will be exhibiting at TENT.

I don't take holidays during the Summer months, as I prefer to spend part of the Winter in Spain, but this year has been a funny combination of spending June back in Gran Canaria, (personal reasons), mini breaks due to family and friends visiting, and a very busy period in between those times off. I am looking forward to get this 4 months up to Xmas out of the way and finally get to relax. I am hoping to book a holiday in Fuerteventura or Lanzarote just for myself. I need a TRUE break!

Lots of interesting and good things are happening in the coming months, and to be honest I need them, as after going through a break up, and a copycat/total robbery of some of my products, (having first meeting with layers this week), and a very busy period I feel quite tired and a bit sad. I don't post as much as I would like, due to luck of time to dedicate to this blog, not because there are not things I want to show or talk about it, but because there are millions of other tasks that are priority right now. Sometimes I post in Instagram (more personal), or at my Facebook page (work related), or on Pinterest (purely inspiration).

Adios Summer 2013 and a good welcome to September and the many new adventures ahead of us!
