Cute house by Ngoc Ming ngo

Just came back from my Nordic Walking in the park, I am in love with this sport!! So needed after all week seating on a chair. So now off to cook some nice Spanish food for my friends who are coming around for dinner. I leave you for the weekend with this cute house of French fashion designer Daniel Jasiak, the photos were taken by the talented Ngoc Ning Ngo, who's portfolio online made dreamt about the house I would love to live in if I had the money...

Very beautiful photos from Abby try again

Abby from Oregon takes this beautiful photos with an old film camera, she is very talented, specially since she is a self taught photographer, thing I find very difficult as I am so bad at it...Her blog is full of original photos and a lot of inspiration.

Handmade dolls, posters and cards from La train...

I have been lucky enough to enjoy handmade dolls as a child, made by my mother for my sister and me, she even had made some for my two little nieces in Germany. I am very pleased to see that this tradition is still around as I keep seeing more and more of this creatures in different online shops and blogs. Le train Fantone, makes this beautiful dolls - so delicate and unique - I also like the posters and cards with cute styling and the dolls...

CHOCOLATE CREATIVE in idreamedisaw

I LOVE Circus, I am working on something related to this subject...but for the time being I leave you with a great selection that Gay from idreamedisaw put together, including one of my cushions, the elephant design on gingham fabric. Thanks Gay!!

Skonahem magazine online

I visit Emma's design blog every day for my dose of dream interiors, and is in her site that I found the Skonahem magazine online. A place full of great interiors and ideas, one of my favorites is this house, specially this room. I love the contrast between the white theme and this decayed wall and wood floor, the frames are quite a feature as well, overall a very inspiring house!!

Helpful resources for designers/makers

What a week!! haven't stopped and therefore haven't been updating my beautiful blog... Last week I found some very useful and interesting links about promoting and running your own craft/handmade business, and wanted to share it with you. I learned about 'The handmade marketplace' book via Designsponge, it sounds very interesting and full of tips about how to run an online shop. Later on, I visit Decor 8 where I saw all this useful links, about how to stylist your photos and products photography. Plus the 'Etsy Success Reading list' (This week’s best small business advice I’ve found this week from around the web) where I spent quite some time going through all the links, and last but not least 'The power of positive thinking' from Ozark in Etsy, which I have became addicted to haha...Enjoy!

Artists and their interiors: Kathy Dalwood

I am starting this new series called 'Artists and their interiors' with British artist and designer Kathy Dalwood home and work. I have always been fascinated by people's houses and how they choose to decorate their spaces, and find most interesting the ones of creative people, as their house sometimes become and extension of their work. I take as an example myself, the colors and textures in my textiles are very present in my house.

Kathy Dalwood home, fascinated me, her use of pinks, turquoises, greens and flowers take me back to the Cuban and Brazilians interiors. The result could have been quite loud and colorful, but manages to keep it relaxed by toning down this colors with neutral greys and whites. Her website and blog are full of surprises, I have felt very inspired by her work and designs, I am very happy to have found such a talented woman, and I am sure you will enjoy her work and style as much as I do!!

The figurines in this collection are rough concrete re-casts of porcelain and plaster originals, hunted down in backwaters here and abroad, from Thrift stores in the Appalachian mountains to flea markets in France and Belgium and sea-side junk shops - and the search goes on!

This is one of my favorites pieces, and amazed me how she has translated the textiles textures and shapes into this decorative plaster work piece from the Tudor period garments. I strongly recommend to visit her blog to fully understand the process and gain and inside into her pieces and inspiration.

Beautiful chaos at the Derriere restaurant in Paris

Next time I am in Paris I hope to visit the Derriere, a new restaurant in the city, not so much for its food, (I guess it would be delicious French cuisine), but for the interiors, I want to experience being in this beautiful chaos and see how I feel, since I am a very tidy person but for some reason keep being attracted to this messy interesting places...

Ceramic Art London 2010

Nice weekend? Mine was, didn't do much, saw a good movie, met my friends and rested...Today I got an email from Claire telling my that I won a ticket to see the Ceramic Art London 2010 at the RCA in London. I first met her at Origin last year and instantly fall in love with her work, so I can't wait to see her new ceramics !! If you are in London head to the RCA for some serious good ceramics.
